Portland Language Arts is a new Chinese English Montessori school located in the heart of NW Portland.

Our curriculum is design to help each child to become proficient in two or more languages, develop self-confidence, respect for others and their opinions, and develop the foundation for a life-long passion for learning.

To achieve these goals, we will supplement the Montessori program with the best practices from multiple educational methodologies, including Reggio Emelia, and the French Education System. Group activities, Art, Music, and independent play form the basis of our approach.

After-school Program
5 - 12 years

Our after school program is designed to continue the development of your child and supplement their education by giving them access to a curriculum that is not always part of the public school program. We will provide children with age appropriate activities and at the request of parents (depending on staff availability) provide focussed tutoring.

Our Chinese Language program is perfect for children that are taking Chinese as a second language. Your child will have the opportunity to speak Chinese, ask our staff for assistance with homework, etc.

EnRICHMENT
Summer Program

This summer we will explore the vast cultural diversity of China. Each week we explore the unique characteristics of a different region, including the food, art, music, geography and history, while learning Mandarin.  In addition to the core focus areas, children will get ample opportunity to do out-door activities.
